s.p. = 2700 \\ p\% = 20\% \\ let \:  \:  \: c.p. = x \\ 2700 = x + 20\%ofx \\  2700 = x +  \frac{20x}{100}  \\ 2700 =  \frac{120x}{100}  \\ 2700 =  \frac{6x}{5}  \\ x =  \frac{2700 \times 5}{6}  \\ x = 450 \times 5 = 2250

[tex]let, purchase cost is x then x+(x*(20/100))=2700 x+(x/5) =2700 6x/5=2700 6x=2700*5 x=(2700*5)/6 hence x=2250[/tex]
