Answer:
for 1st fan C.P.=( 100/100+profit )×S.P.
=C.P.=(100/100+14)×1140=1000
C.P. for 1st fan =1000
C.P. for 2nd fan =(100/100-loss)×S.P.
C.P.=(100/100-5)×1140=1200
total C.P.=1000+1200=2200
total S.P.=1140+1140=2280
S.P.is greater than C.P. so there will be profit
profit =S.P.-C.P.=2280-2200=80
profit or gain percent=profit×100/C.P.
=80×100/2200=3.63 percent gain.
