There was a 1% loss in the transaction.
Two wachine machines are sold at Rs 49500 each.
On one he gains 10%.
So, on that machine, the CP would be lesser.
CP = 49500/(100+10)%
= Rs 49500/110%
= Rs 45000
On the other he suffers a loss of 10%.
So, on that machine the CP would be more.
CP = 49500/(100-10)%
= Rs 49500/90%
= Rs 55000
TOTAL SP = Rs (49500*2) = Rs 99000
TOTAL CP = Rs (45000+55000) = Rs 100000
Since CP>SP, it's loss
Loss value = Rs 100000- Rs 99000 = Rs 1000
Loss % = [Loss/CP * 100]%
= (1000/100000) *100%
= 1%
This is the required answer.
