Step-by-step explanation:

Market price of the skirt =Rs.1200

During normal season discount @25 %=

100

25

×1200=Rs. 300

After the discount, price of the skirt 1200−300

Rs. 900

In off season, the shopkeeper also offer discount @30 %=

100

30

×900=Rs. 270

Now, the price of skirt after 30% discount,=900−270=Rs. 630

Answer :

›»› Rs.630 is the amount, that pragya paid.

Given :

  • A shopkeeper was selling his items at 25 % discount . during the off season, he offered 30% over and above the existing discount.

To find :

  • If pragya bought a skirt which wasarked ₹ 1200 then how much did she pay for it?

Solution :

Market price of the shirt = ₹1200

During Normal season discount = 25%

That means the normal season price of the shirt is,

→ 1200 - 25% of 1200

→ 1200 - 25/100 * 1200

→ 1200 - 25 * 12

→ 1200 - 300

900

After the discount, price of the shirt = Rs.900

Now,

In the off season, the price of the shirt is,

→ 900 - 30% of 900

→ 900 - 30/100 * 900

→ 900 - 30 * 9

→ 900 - 270

630

Hence, Rs.630 is the amount, that pragya paid.
