CP:- 12 eggs --------- Rs 16

SP: - 10 eggs --------- Rs 8

By avoiding the confusion of fractions we bought 12 * 10 = 120 eggs

Shortcut Method:-

CP:-12 eggs ---------- Rs 16

1 egg= 16 / 12 Rs

120 egg = 16 / 12 * 100

= Rs 160

SP: - 10 eggs -------- Rs 8

1 egg = 8 / 10 Rs

120 eggs = 8/10 * 120

= 96 eggs

As CP> SP then it is a loss

Loss = 160 - 96 = 64

Loss% = Loss / CP * 100

= 64 / 160 * 100

= 64 * 5 / 8

= 40%

Ans: 40%
