1.Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Maurya Empire in ancient India. He was taught and counselled by the philosopher Chanakya, who had great influence in the formation of his empire. Together, Chandragupta and Chanakya built one of the largest empires on the Indian subcontinent.

2.Kautilya also known as Vishnugupta and Chanakya, is traditionally known as the author of the Arthashastra, the celebrated ancient Indian work on polity, and as the counselor of Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of the Maurya empire.

3.Bindusara was the father of one of the greatest kings in ancient India- King Ashoka. Bindusara ascended to the Mauryan throne after Chandragupta Maurya and ruled upto the year 273 BC. He was an ambitious king who defeated as many as 16 rulers and established Mauryan authority over large parts of South India.
