Unofficial chronicling of history has more freedom and charm than the scripting of official history, Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University Vice-Chancellor K. Jayakumar has said.
He was releasing Malappuram Garima , an anthology of essays on the socio-cultural aspects of Malappuram, penned by prominent personalities and published by the Purogamana Kalasahithya Sangham, here on Saturday evening.
Mr. Jayakumar said creative and literary writers were chronicling history through the lives of human beings.
He released the book, edited by poet Manambur Rajanbabu, by handing over a copy to V. Sasikumar, former MLA.
Sahithya Sangham district president K.P. Ramanan presided over the function. P.K. Sainaba, CPI(M) State committee member, released a pocket book of addresses by handing over a copy to Haneefa Rajaji.
