Answer:

It is widely agreed that paper was invented by the Chinese in 105 AD during the Han Dynasty. Paper’s popularity spread slowly to the west via Samarkand and Baghdad. Paper making in Europe started in Spain and Sicily in the 10th century by the Muslims living there then. The use of paper gradually spread to Italy and Southern France reaching Germany and other northern European countries by the 1400’s.

Since its invention, paper has literally written itself into our history and our lives. I cannot imagine the bible not in book form or the Magana Carter being recorded in stone etchings. Paper has given us many gifts and continues to give us much enjoyment.

and adaptable. Paper has many different uses and can be changed into things that are completely different to its original making.

Paper’s characteristics are shaped by the way it has been made, which allows a completely unique personality to emerge. That personality helps me as a human being connect.

Answer:

Paper is a material that has been around for about 2000 years. It was developed in China in the the first or second century AD, and it’s made by pressing together the moist fibers of cellulose derived from plants and then dried to result in flexible sheets.

Paper, and the ability to mass product it, has resulted in the development of writing as a means to pass down information through the ages. This in turn has accelerated information duplication and exchange, and led to the cultural and technological advancements that we have seen in the last two millennia (for better or worse).

Paper is extremely important to us now. It’s still a major way that our culture stores information. And while the benefits of digital storage are many, paper still offers some advantage like ease of storage, no need for file conversions, and the fact that it can be produced sustainably (although it often is not unfortunately). It also holds a special place in history, and many of our latest discoveries about the past are made by investigating the written remains of culture that has preserved until now.
