Jawaharlal Nehru Essay

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first prime minister of the India. He was born on 14th of November in the year 1889 in the Allahabad. The name of his father was Moti Lai Nehru who was a prominent lawyer. He got his early education at home however went to England for getting higher studies and returned again to the country in 1912. He became a lawyer just like his father. Later he became involved in the India’s freedom movement with the Mahatma Gandhi. During the freedom movement he sent to jail several times however after independence of India in 1947 he became the first Prime Minister of India.

Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was a great Indian leader. He is my favourite leader. He was born at Allahabad on November 14, 1889. Pt. Moti Lal Nehru was his father. Swarup Rani was his mother. He was brought up like a prince. At first he was taught at home. Then he was sent to England for higher studies. There he passed law. He became a barrister. Nehru came back to India. He met Mahatma Gandhi. This changed his life. He gave up his riches. He joined the fight for freedom. He went to jail many times. At last India became free in 1947. He became our first Prime Minister. He worked hard for the country. He made Five- Year Plans. He started new factories. New dams were built. Many big industries were set up. He was a great writer also. He wrote many books. He was a lover of peace. He hated war. People loved him dearly. Children called him Chacha Nehru. He died in 1964. He was a great son of India. We can never forget him.
