I know that some of us don't believe with this saying because they know that they are wealthy enough that they can get all what they want but I do strongly agree with this quote because actually, I came from a poor family. My parents are both farmers but even though, farming is just the source
of our living, they were able to send us in school. We are all nine siblings of our parents and we were able to surpass the challenges in our lives that despite of the hardships that we've gone through, we are still lucky because fortunately all of us in the family finished our studies.
I still remember when I was a kid. I think I was in grade three that time when my mother let me practice to work in the garden. She let me distribute the cabbage seedlings in the plot that was prepared for planting the seedlings. Even when it is raining or the sun shines so hot we will still wear our raincoats then work in the rain or work under the sun even if it's too hot.
As the days, months and years go by I came to realize the difficulty of life. All my experiences served as an eye-opener for me to pursue my studies so that sooner or later I will no longer experience working in the rain with matching raincoats and rain boots or to work under the sun. With the help of my family especially my parents through their unending support I was able to finish the degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and luckily I was able to become a certified nurse.
One of the author said that "Education is a continuous process that goes throughout life." This is a wonderful saying that inspired me to take up an additional units to qualify me in the teaching field. I thank you for the instructor who required us to write an article because I had an opportunity to write my experiences, principles and opinions in life.
In life, nothing is impossible as long as we carry the 3 D's in our lives: determination. desire and discipline. With this 3 D's we can achieve our goals in life, it's not the poverty that hindrances our success. One thing more that we should consider is the verse in the Holy Bible that is, "Everything is possible through God who strengthens me."(Phil 4:13) that everything that we desire for the goodness of ourselves and other people will be granted by committing ourselves to the Almighty God.
