Louis XVI was born to Louis Ferdinand, Dauphin of France and and grandson of Louis XVand his wife, Marie Joseph of Saxony , in 1754.
His father died early in Louis's life and Louis XVI became the dauphin. His parents liked his older brother more than Louis and were upset when Louis's brother died at ten. Louis's parents turned against him and he became a shy boy. When Louis was 15, he married Marie Antoinette At first, he and Marie did not consummate the marriage. At last, they did in 1773.
However, they failed to produce children for several years after that. This made the marriage strained. The situation was made worse when observe pamphlets called libelles were published. These libelles mockedtheir failure to produce children. One questioned, "Can the King do it? Can't the King do it?"
hope this helps you!

Louis XVI (French pronunciation: 23 August 1754 – 21 January 1793), born Louis-Auguste, was the last King of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution. He was referred to as Citizen Louis Capet during the final four months of his life. In 1765, at the death of his father, Louis, son and heir apparent of Louis XV, Louis-Auguste became the new Dauphin of France. Upon his grandfather's death on 10 May 1774, he assumed the title "King of France and Navarre", which he used until 4 September 1791, when he received the title of "King of the French" until the monarchy was abolished on 21 September 1792.
