the revolt of 1857 was fought because of the irrelevant policies of the britishers like doctorine of lapse , subsidiary alliance etc. the causes of the revolt was that the britishers have ruined indian cotton industries and they wanted more profit from india and give nothing in reply of the resources exported from india. the causes of the failure of the revolt were that more people were not known about the revolt and indians dont have enough men and resources and weapons to fight with the britishers.
