A short note on being a good person is more important than getting a good job

I’m not sure why you think someone else could answer this for you. It depends on what kind of human being you want to be and what kind of life you want for yourself. It also depends on what your definition of a “good” human being is. Each person’s definition of a “good” human being may be slightly different. Keep in mind, you can have a good job and be good human being, as well.

I would ask myself…is the job going to make me compromise my values?

Will I still be able to do the things that are important to me? Such as spend time with family or whatever is important to YOU.

Is the job going to put me in more danger than I want to be in?

Can I live with myself and get up every morning to go to work and feel happy? Is my conscience clear? Do I carry around guilt?

Only you can answer this question because only you know what kind of a person you want to be. Maybe your dream job requires you to live a relatively solitary life because you are an undercover agent. Maybe that same job requires you do do things and make choices that others might not think are the best. Let’s say that same job is also helping a great cause, such as your country. You could still have this good job and be a good human being or a not so good human being. It is not black and white and there is no right or wrong answer. The answer is within you.
