the civil rights act of 1964 which ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of a race,colour,religion or national origin.

>> The act outlawed discrimination on the basis of race , colour , religion or national religion .
>> Also required equal access to public places and employment..
>> It prohibits unequal application of voter registration requirement , employment and public accommodation.
>> Powers given to enforce that act were initially weak but then also were supplement during late year.
>> It also prohibited state and municipal govt. from dennying access to public facilities on ground of race , religion ..etc
