DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology for bringing high- bandwidth information to homes and small businesses over ordinary copper telephone lines. xDSL refers to different variations of DSL, such as ADSL, HDSL, and RADSL .it uses existing 2-wire copper telephone line connected to one's home so service is delivered at the same time as landline telephone service. Customers can still place calls while surfing the Internet.

DSL. Stands for "Digital Subscriber Line." DSL is a communications medium used to transfer digital signals over standard telephone lines. ... Symmetric DSL (SDSL) splits the upstream and downstream frequencies evenly, providing equal speeds for both sending and receiving data.
Digital subscriber line (DSL; originally digital subscriber loop) is a family of technologies that are used to transmit digital data over telephone lines. ... DSL service can be delivered simultaneously with wired telephone service on the same telephone line since DSL uses higher frequency bands for data.
