Hi friend. Hope this helps you
The poem ' The Brook' is a journey of the brook from its origin till joining its final destination. It origins in the midst of fern, passes through thirty hills and half a hundred bridges during its journey. The brook slips, slides, glooms and glances.
But there is one line which is repeated a lot of times in the poem. 'For men may come and men may go, but I go on forever.' . It tells us about the permanent nature of the brook and the temporary aspect of human life. It gives the central idea of the poem, which is maintained throughout the poem in repetation
The poem has been written in the form of an autobiography where it relates it's experience as it flows towards the river.
