Since the shot-put is a solid sphere made of metal and its mass is equal to the product of its volume and density, we need to find the volume of the sphere.

 \sf{Volume =  \frac{4}{3} \pi{r}^{3} }

 \sf{ =  \frac{4}{3} \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 2.1 \times 2.1 \times 2.1 = 38.80c {m}^{3}  }

 \sf{Density =  \frac{mass}{volume} }

 \sf{7.8 =  \frac{mass}{308.80} }

 \sf = 7.8 \times 308.80 = mass

=2408.64g=2.40kg
