Answer:

The cost price of per microvave is 5000 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,a showroom offers a 10% discount on a microwave ,whose marked price is rs.8000.

So, amount of discount

 = 8000 \times  \frac{10}{100}  \\  = 80 \times 10 \\  = 800 \: rupees

Again the show room gives a blender worth rs.1200 as a complimentary gift with the microwave.

Therefore final selling price is

8000 - (800 + 1200) \\  = 8000 - 2000 \\  = 6000 \: rupees

Now it is also given they gain profit 20%.

Let cost price be x.

So, selling price

x \times  \frac{120}{100}  \\  = x \times  \frac{12}{10}  \\  = x \times  \frac{6}{5}  \\  =  \frac{6x}{5}  \: rupees

Here \frac{6x}{5} rupees and 6000 rupees both are selling price of the microwave.

So,

 \frac{6x}{5}  = 6000

By cross multiplication,

6x = 6000 \times 5 \\ 6x = 30000 \\ x =  \frac{30000}{6}  \\ x = 5000

Therefore cost price of the microwave is 5000 rupees.
