A silver wire 6.6 mm with diameter in which 3.6 A current passing through it. calculate how many coulombs of electric charge flows from silver wire in 3 hrs.

solution : current passing through a wire is rate of change of charge per unit time.

so, i = Q/t

⇒Q = it

= 3.6 A × 3 × 3600 sec [ 1 hr = 3600 sec ]

= 38880 Coulombs

= 3.888 × 10⁴ C

Therefore the electric current flows from silver wire in 3 hrs is 3.888 × 10⁴ C.
