The Supreme Court is the highest court in India. It is the highest constitutional court and the final court of appeal. It has the power of judicial review which means it can review any action of the legislative and executive to ensure that those actions are not in violation of the Constitution. It consists of the Chief Justice and a maximum of 30 other judges. It has extensive powers in the form of original, appellate and advisory jurisdictions.
