For a fixed-mass pendulum in a fixed gravity field, the period is constant. This means the device can be used to measure elapsed time. Just count the swings during the event you wish to measure, and you have the elapsed time accurate to one swing. The pendulum is an excellent way to measure time.

Rachayita: the chapter's name is motion...and please answer this in a class7 standard
Shubhamjaggi: okk ..let me tell u ..plz wait
Rachayita: ok
Shubhamjaggi: A simple pendulum consists of a mass hanging from a string of length and fixed at a pivot point . When displaced to an initial angle and released, the pendulum will swing back and forth with periodic motion.
Shubhamjaggi: is this is correct for you??
Rachayita: tysm
Rachayita: ur my lifesaver
Rachayita: is there any equation for it as well?
Rachayita: is it 2 pi underoot l/g?
Shubhamjaggi: wait for some time

A pendulum basically is a load or mass that is suspended to a stringaucha that when the load is displaced at an amplitude from the Me a position or the equilibrium position I.ei x=0, then the pendulum acts under a restoring force which brings back it to the Mean position and then the this periodic motion contionous to be happen thus this motion is example of a oscillating peroidic motion......
