For a pendulum that is oscillating at a particular rate, we define it's frequency as the ratio of vibrations it produces in a particular time to time taken to produce them. It can be defined by the expression :

n =  \frac{v}{t}

In this equation :-

  • n = frequency
  • v = total vibrations
  • t = time.

Now the frequency of pendulum will be :

n =  \frac{v}{t}

After inputting the known values in equation we get :

n =  \frac{20}{3}  = 6.66

Therefore frequency of given pendulum is 6.66Hz.

  • In a transverse wave the particles oscillate In a direction which is perpendicular to direction of wave propagation.
  • In transverse waves the wavelength is distance between two crests or troughs.
  • In a longitudinal wave the particle oscillate Parrallel to direction of wave propagation.
  • In longitudinal wave the wavelength is distance between two compressions or rarefactions.
