A simple pendulum has a time period of 1.0 second at the Earth's surface. It is taken to a height Re/2 about the Earth's surface, where Re is the radius of the Earth. The time period is

Hey mate......

T ∞ 1/√g ............ (1)

And g ∞ 1/ R² ................. (2)

From (1) and (2) ⇒ T ∞ R where R is height from center of earth

Hence T₁/T₂ = R₁/R₂

On solving T₂ = 1.5 sec
