t =15 sec for 5 oscillation
therefore , one oscillation will complete =15/5
=3 sec for each oscillation

Answer:

A simple pendulum takes 15 secs to complete 5 oscillations.  The time period of the pendulum will be 3\ s

Explanation:

  • The time period is the time taken to complete one to and fro motion of the oscillating body.
  • It can be obtained from the ratio of time taken for the oscillations and the number of oscillations made by the pendulum.
  • Let T be the time period N  be the number of oscillations  and t be the time taken for the oscillations then,

        T = \frac{t}{N}      ....(1)

In the question, it is given that,

t=15\ s

N = 5

Substitute these values into equation(1)

T = \frac{15}{5} = 3\ s

  • Time period of the pendulum = 3\ s
