A simple steam power plant uses solar energy for heat input. Water enters as saturated liquid at the inlet of pump at 40 ˚C and is pumped to 2 bar. It is then evaporated in boiler at this pressure and enters the turbine as saturated vapour. The actual turbine exhaust conditions are 10 % moisture and 40 ˚C. The mass flow rate of the steam is 150 kg/hr. Determine (i) Turbine isentropic efficiency (ii) Power output from the plant and cycle efficiency.
