A simple tissue is made of only one type of cells. Figure 13.1 shows the various simple tissues in plants are parenchyma, collenchymas and sclerenchyma as shown. These are commonly found in the fruit walls of pulp of fruits like guava, nuts; pear and spots; leaves of tea and seed coats of legumes.

These are dead cells with thick lignified walls and oblitered central lumen. Based on shape this can be
1) fibres - when spindle in shape.
2) Sclereids - when cylindrical in shape.
