thymine and guanine
Bcz The sequence of nitrogenous bases run in such form like ATGC. ....ATGC.
this is the arrangement of bases on DNA

Answer: The correct answer is Thymine and Guanine.

In a double helical structure of DNA, there are two complementary strands. These strands have complementary base pairs according to Watson and Crick base pairing, which says that-

  • Adenine pairs with Thymine with the help of two hydrogen bonds.
  • Guanine pairs with Cytosine with the help of three hydrogen bonds.

Thus, DNA with one strand having 36 Adenine and 24 cytosine will be having 36 Thymine and 24 Guanine ( in complementary strand) in order to complete the proper base pairing.
