Singlet carbenes are spin-paired. In the language of valence bond theory, the molecule adopts an sp2 hybrid structure.

Still sp2 can be two structures eithere a trigonl planar structure or a bent structure.

But the condition to be trigonal planar is that, it should not have any lone pairs but carbene has lone pairs

(Its due to LONE PAIR = BOND PAIR repulsion there is a bent in the structure of carbene)

so carbene is said to have a BENT / ANGULAR / V-SHAPED STRUCTURE

I have attached a picture of carbene also for further clarification

IF HELPFUL PLS DO MARK AS BRAINLIEST
