Given:-

  • Height of slope ,h = 2 m

  • Mass ,m = 45 kg

To Find:-

  • Potential Energy ,PE

Solution:-

As we know that the energy possess by body due to its position is called Potential Energy.

Also, The acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s²

PE = mgh

where,

PE is the Potential Energy

m is the mass of body

g is the acceleration due to gravity

h is the height

substitute the value we get

→ PE = 45 × 9.8×2

→ PE = 90×9.8

→ PE = 9×98

→ PE = 882 J

Therefore, the potential energy is 882 Joules.

Answer :-

Given :-

  • Height of slope = 2 m
  • Mass of sled = 45 kg

To find :-

  • Potential energy - PE

Solution :-

  • h = 2 m
  • m = 45 kg
  • g = 9.8 m/s²

Substituting the value in formula :-

P.E. = mgh

P.E. = 2 × 45 × 9.8

P.E. = 882 J

Potential energy = 882 J

Additional information :-

Potential energy is the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position or deformed shape.

Types of Potential energy -

  • Gravitational potential energy :-

The energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position is known as gravitational potential energy.

  • Elastic Potential energy :-

The energy possessed by a body by virtue of the deformed shape is known as elastic potential energy.
