AnswEr :

›»› The potential energy of the sled is 882 Joules (J).

Given :

  • Height of the sled = 2 m.
  • Mass of the sled = 45 kg.

To Find :

  • Potential energy of the sled = ?

Solution :

We know that, if we are given with the height of the sled and the mass of the sled then we have the required formula, that is,

PE = mgh.

Here,

  • PE is the Potential energy.
  • m is the Mass.
  • g is the Acceleration due to gravity.
  • h is the Height.

We know the value of acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s² or 10 m/s².

Here we will use 9.8 m/s² for acceleration due to gravity.

Substituting the all given values in the formula, we get :

→ PE = 2 × 45 × 9.8

→ PE = 90 × 9.8

PE = 882

Hence, the potential energy of the sled is 882 Joules (J).
