Explanation:

Here is solution buddy..percentage of milk = 80%

percentage of milk = 80%It means, the percentage of water = 20%

percentage of milk = 80%It means, the percentage of water = 20%In 60L of mixture, water = (60 * 20)/ 100 = 1200/100 = 12 litre

percentage of milk = 80%It means, the percentage of water = 20%In 60L of mixture, water = (60 * 20)/ 100 = 1200/100 = 12 litreLet the water be added is = x

= xNow, {(12 + x)/(60 + x)} * 100 = 40 (it is because in the new mixture milk is 60%, 100 – 60 = 40% water)

= xNow, {(12 + x)/(60 + x)} * 100 = 40 (it is because in the new mixture milk is 60%, 100 – 60 = 40% water)= 1200 + 100x = 2400 + 40x

= xNow, {(12 + x)/(60 + x)} * 100 = 40 (it is because in the new mixture milk is 60%, 100 – 60 = 40% water)= 1200 + 100x = 2400 + 40x100x – 40x = 2400 – 1200

= xNow, {(12 + x)/(60 + x)} * 100 = 40 (it is because in the new mixture milk is 60%, 100 – 60 = 40% water)= 1200 + 100x = 2400 + 40x100x – 40x = 2400 – 120060x = 1200

Then X will be 1200/60=20liters.

Answer:Try this

here milk=80%

water=20%

in 60L milk,water=20% of 60L

(20/100) X 60 =12L

Let the water added be x

new solution=60+xL

Total water added=12+x

as given in the question the milk becomes 60% so water added will be 40%

So,

water added = 40%of new solution

12+x=40% of (60+x)

12+x=(40/100) X (60+x)

(12+x) X 100=40X(60+x)

1200+100x=2400+40x

100x-40x=2400-1200

60x=1200

x=1200/60

x=20

So,20litres of water was added to the mixture that the percentage of milk became 60%
