Given:

The mass of ring A is m

The mass of ring B is 2m

To find:

The tension in the string when it becomes vertical.

Solution:

The conservation of energy will take place

mv²/2= mgl+ mgl/3

Removing common quantities

v²/2=gl+gl/3

v²/2=4gl/3

v²=8gl/3

v=√8gl/3

Therefore the Tension on the string is T=14 mg
