The number of more employees needed is 40.

•Given data :

Total pump to make = 540

Total time for the agreement = 150 days

40 men made 180 pumps in 75 days

• So,the remaining number of pumps to make = (540-180) = 360 pumps

• Remaining number of days for the agreement = (150-75) = 75 days

• Now,

In 75 days 180 pumps are made by = 40 men

In 75 days 1 pump is made by = 40/180 men ( direct proportion)

In 75 days 360 pumps are made by = 40×360/180 = 80 men (direct proportion)

• The amount of more men

= Necessary men - Current men

= 80 - 40

= 40

The company needs 40 more men to finish the agreement in the given time. (Answer)
