x = number of red chairs

y = number of blue chairs

z = number of green chairs

x + y + z = 100

240x + 260y + 300z = 25000

first, assume that:

x = 60

x + y + z = 100

240x + 260y + 300z = 25000

solution:

x = number of red chairs = 60

y = number of blue chairs = 35

z = number of green chairs = 5

second, assume that:

y = 41

x + y + z = 100

240x + 260y + 300z = 25000

y = 41

solution:

x = number of red chairs = 56

y = number of blue chairs = 41

z = number of green chairs = 3

third, assume that:

z = 1

x + y + z = 100

240x + 260y + 300z = 25000

z =1

solution:

x = number of red chairs = 52

y = number of blue chairs = 47

z = number of green chairs = 1
