Education is the process through which a person acquires knowledge or learn new skills. Children are educated at schools. They depend on the school teachers for their education.
Education imparts literary skills. A literate person is able to read and write. He can understand the written content. He can read his emails and can draft his letters and emails.
Education brings great respect for individuals and the nation. An educated person is respected in the society. A nation with a large pool of educated people such as doctors, engineers, and scientists is regarded as an advanced nation. Students can opt for higher education after school. He can join college and universities. Some students join institutions that imparts specialization in specific fields. For example, some students join medical colleges to become doctors, while some join engineering colleges to become engineers. They are able to serve the nation in a great way.
Education opens the doors of the vast knowledge that are stored in books, both physical and online. He can use these information in his life for his own benefits or for the well-being of the society.
Thus, we find that being educated is an important factor for achieving success, building characters, and for living a wholesome and happy life.

It is generally believed that education is basic to all development. According to John Dewey, life is development and that developing and growing is life. If we translate this view into the sphere of education, we can say that education is considered to aim at all-round development of the individual’s personality. Education in India has been considered as self-education which means a man making, life-building education by which the character of pupil is formed, strength of mind is increased and this education helps one to stand on his own feet, gives strength and courage during adverse time of life.
This is nothing but the all- round development of the individual’s personality. That is way man becomes man by education. Education is a process of man-making. Nothing is essential for helping an individual to realize the nature which is inherent in him. Hence, Education is necessary for all.

India is a democratic country. Education and Democracy are closely related. The ideal of Justice, Equality, Liberty and Fraternity are the four-fold ideal of the democracy. The ideal of equality. Education is an essential factor of human development, h brings refinement in man. The advancement of civilization is very much influenced by the development in education.It is now felt that world of peace, justice, freedom and equality for all, can be achieved through education. Thus, it can be said that education is extremely necessary for all. No good life is conceivable without education.
The above philosophical description arrives at the conclusion that education is a basic human need. It promotes the intelligence of human being, develops his skill, enables him to be industrious and ensures his progress. Education also directs the undeveloped capacities, attitude, interest, urges and needs of the individual into desirable channels. The individual can change and modify his environment with the help of education according to his need.
Man has two aspects – biological and social. The social aspect of human being is maintained and transmitted by education. Education not only preserves and transmits the social elements from generation to generation, but also helps for the enrichment of culture. Education is a social necessity. It enables the individual to play his effective role in the society with the object of making it richer, better and more attractive.
