solution : let the price of watch before the discount is x.

after discount, the price of watch = x - 20 % of x = x - 20x/100 = 4x/5

∵ Yogesh paid 4,500 Rs. after applying 20% discount.

∴  4x/5 = 4,500

⇒ x = 4500 × 5/4 = 5625

therefore the price of watch before discount is 5625 Rs.
