20minutes

The height of tree is 1 m =100cm

First minute climbing=10 cm

Second Minute drops= 5cm

therefore in 2min it covers 5 cm

it will take 100/5=20 m

Distance=1m=100cm

Time=1m=60 second.

Obviously, the snail climbs 10–5=5cm in 2 minutes.

So it will climb 90 cm in(2/5)×90= 36 minutes.

In next one min, it will climb 10 cm, so total distance traversed= 90 +10=100cm and it will reach the top.

So the answer is 37 min.
