SP of the Sofa set = Rs. 1150

Sofa Set is sold on successive discount for 20% and 10%

Marked Price of Sofa set when 20% of discount is Given

Discount % = 20 %

Price after discount = ( SP * 100 ) / ( 100 - Discount % )

= ( 11520 * 100 ) / ( 100 - 20 )

= 1152000 / 80

= 14400

Now on second discount of 10%

Price after 20% discount ( SP ) = 14400

Discount % = 10 %

Marked Price = ( SP * 100 ) / ( 100 - Discount % )

= ( 14400 * 100 ) / ( 100 - 10 )

= 1440000 / 90

= 16000

Therefore the marked price of the sofa set was Rs. 16000.
