A soft drink is available in two packs

i) a tin can with a rectangular base of length 5 cm , breadth 4 cm and height 15 cm

\underbrace\mathfrak\color{lime}{ †\: Answer:–}

Tin can :

The tin as a rectangular base it . So it is cubiod

So given ;

⇒Length = 5cm

⇒ Breadth = 4cm

⇒Height = 15cm

Capacity of tin can = Volume of Cuboid

We know the formula ;

\longrightarrow {\green{\overline{\green{\underline{\blue{\boxed{\orange{\mathtt{Length × Breadth × Height}}}}}}}}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= 5cm × 4cm × 15cm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= 300cm³

Now ;

\underbrace\mathfrak\color{lime}{ †\: Question:–}

A soft drink is available in two packs

ii) A plastic cylinder with circular base of diameter 7 cm and height 10 cm .

Plastic cylind :

So given ;

⇒Diameter = 7cm

⇒Radius = \frac{diameter}{2}

⇒Radius = \frac{7}{2}

⇒ Height = 10cm

Capacity of Cylinder = Volume of Cylinder

We know the formula ;

\longrightarrow {\green{\overline{\green{\underline{\blue{\boxed{\orange{\mathtt{πr²h}}}}}}}}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= (\frac{22}{7} × \frac{7}{2} × \frac{7}{2} × 10)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= 385cm²

Therefore ;

Which container has greater capacity and by how much.

Capacity of Plastic cylinder > Capacity of Tin can

So Plastic cylinder is greater .

Capacity of Plastic cylinder - Capacity of Tin can

⇒ 300cm³ - 385cm³

⇒ 85cm³

Thus the plastic cylinder has greater capacity of 85cm³
