solid are very difficult to compress because of their strong intermolecular force or cohesive force and there is almost no space in between cells.so first sentence is false,, on heating the kinetic energy of cells get activitated and they move rapidly making weak cohesive force so yes they melt or expand on heating. but overall statement is false as per how much I know
