A solid consisting of right circular cone of height 120 cm and radius 60 cm standing on a hemisphere of radius 60 cm is placed upright in the right Circular Cylinder full of water such that it touches the bottom. Find the volume of water left in the Cylinder, if the radius of Cylinder 60 cm and its height is 180 cm.

Hello mate,

Here is your answer,

volume of water left=volume of cylinder-volume of cone

=pi.r^2.H-pi.r^2.h/3

=pi.r^2 {H-h/3}

=22/7 x 60 x 60 {180-120/3}

=22/7 x 60 x 60 x 140  

=1584000 cm^3

= 1584 litres
