Given :- a solid consists of cylinder of base base radius of 2.5 cm and height of 8 cm and a cuboid with dimensions 11cm by 7 cm by 3 cm .

To Find :-

  • Volume of solid ?
  • Total Surface area of solid ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Volume of cylinder = π * (radius)² * height .
  • Volume of cuboid = length * breadth * height .

So,

→ Volume of solid = volume of cylinder + volume of cuboid

→ Volume of solid = π * (2.5)² * 8 + 11 * 7 * 3

→ Volume of solid = 3.14 * 6.25 * 8 + 77 * 3

→ Volume of solid = 157 + 231

→ Volume of solid = 388 cm³ (Ans.)

Now,

→ Total Surface area of solid = CSA of cylinder + Top Base area of cylinder + TSA of cuboid

→ Total Surface area of solid = 2πrh + πr² + 2(lb + bh + hl).

→ Total Surface area of solid = (2 * 3.14 * 2.5 * 8) + {3.14 * (2.5)²} + {2(11*7 + 7*3 + 3*11)}

→ Total Surface area of solid = 125.6 + 19.625 + 262

→ Total Surface area of solid = 407.225 cm². (Ans.)

Hence, Volume of solid is 388 cm³ and Total Surface area of solid is 407.225 cm².
