Answer:

900cm

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of sphere =volume of cylinder

because sphere melted to form the cylinder

sphere volume=4/3*πr^3=4/3*π*3*3*3=36π

cylinder volume=π*r^2h=π*0.2*0.2*h=0.04*hπ

36π=0.04*hπ

h=36/0.04=900

h=900

The length of the wire is 900 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A solid copper sphere of radius 3 cm is melted and electric wire of diameter 0.4 cm is made out of the copper obtained.

To find : The length of the wire ?

Solution :

As sphere is melted in form of electric wire i.e. cylindrical in shape.

So, Volume of sphere = Volume of cylinder

i.e. \frac{4}{3}\pi r^3=\pi R^2 H

Here, r=3 cm

and D=0.4 cm ⇒ R=0.2 cm

Substitute the value in the formula,

\frac{4}{3} (3)^3=(0.2)^2 H

H=\frac{4\times 27}{3\times 0.04}

H=\frac{108}{0.12}

H=900

The length of the wire is 900 cm.
