a) solid copper sulphate does not conduct electricity , but when it is dissolved in water it does conduct electricity . why?
b)why is zinc electroplated on iron?

a) solid copper sulphate does not conduct electricity,but when it is dissolved in water ( H2O ) it does conduct electricity because water is a good conductor of electricity.
In some activities you can also see that water is used to complete an electric circuit.

b) zinc is electroplated on iron because it prevents iron to become rust.As you know that when any iron comes in contact with air / water it starts getting rust and after few days it completely gets rust.

In other languages we can also say that iron reacts with oxygen ( present in water / present in air ) to form rust.
