Required Answer :

Pressure exerted by the solid on the table = 10000 pascal

Given :

  • Side of a cube = 25 cm
  • Weight of the cube (Force) = 625 N

To find :

  • Pressure exerted by the solid on the table

Solution :

As we know,

  • 1 m = 100 cm

⇒ Side of cube = 25/100

⇒ Side of cube = 0.25 m

Area of the cube :

Using formula,

  • Area of cube = (side)²

⇒ Area of cube = (0.25)²

⇒ Area of cube = 0.0625 m²

Using formula,

  • P = F / A

where,

  • P denotes the pressure whose S.I. unit is pascal
  • F denotes the force whose S.I. unit is newton
  • A denotes the area whose S.I. unit is m²

⇒ Pressure = 625/0.0625

⇒ Pressure = (625 × 10000)/625

⇒ Pressure = 10000

Therefore,

  • Pressure exerted by the solid on the table = 10000 pascal
