The height of a cuboid whose two sides are known and is formed by melting of the cube of side 15 cm is calculated as follows:

for the cube of side (say )a= 15 cm volume is calculated as:

a³ = 15³=3375 cm³

now on melting the volume remains same therefore the volume of cuboid formed will also be same.

⇒ volume of cuboid = 3375 cm³

⇒ l×b×h = 3375 cm³

⇒ 25×9×h = 3375 cm³

height (h) = 15 cm

Answer:

If a solid cube of edge 15 cm is melted into a cuboid of measurements 25 cm by 9 cm, then the height of the cuboid is 15 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given edge of the solid cube = 15 cm

length of cuboid = 25 cm

Breadth of cuboid = 9 cm

When the solid cube is melted into a cuboid, the volume remains same.

That is volume of the solid cube = volume of the cuboid

a^{3}= lbh

Where a is the edge of the cube

l is the length of the cuboid

b is the breadth of the cuboid

h is the height of the cuboid.

Here ,

a= 15 cm

l= 25 cm

b = 9 cm

Substitute the values in the equation.

a^{3} =lbh

15^{3}=25*9*h

h= \frac{15*15*15}{25*9} =\frac{225*15}{225} =15 cm

Therefore height of the cuboid is 15 cm
