A solid cylinder has total surface area as 231 cm². The curved surface area is 2/3 of the total surface area. Find its radius.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

GIVEN

TSA = 231 cm²

CSA    = 2/3 of TSA

          = 2/3 * 231

           = 154 cm²

TSA = 2πrh + 2πr²

231 = 154 + 2 * \pi * r^{2}

231 - 154 = 2\pi r^{2}

r^{2} = \frac{49}{4}

r = \frac{7}{2}

r = 3.5 cm
