GIVEN,
mass of solid cylinder= 24kg
TO FIND,
mass of cylinder twice thick and only half long,
SOLUTION,
we are given,
mass of solid cylinder= VOLUME* DENSITY
24= * D ------(i) ( Mass is given, the volume of a solid cylinder is
for the next condition the height = , radius= 2r
mass of new solid cylinder= VOLUME*DENSITY
MASS= *D----(ii)
dividing equations (i) and (ii)
we get,
solving for the mass of new cylinder we get,
mass= 48kg
HENCE THE VOLUME OF THE NEW CYLINDER WILL BE 48 KG.
