The tension in the string is 56 N.

Explanation:

Given data:

  • Mass of the cylinder = 30 kg
  • Radius of the cylinder = 0.3 m

To Find:

Tension in the string "T" = ?

Solution:

The tension will be calculated as -

T × R = MR^2 / 2 x α

T = MR / 2 x α

T = 30 x 0.3/2 x ( 2 x 2π)

T = 4.5  x 2 x 2π)

T = 56 N

Thus the tension in the string is 56 N.
