Given :-

A solid iron cylinder has a total surface area of 1848 sq.m. Its curved surface area is  five – sixth of its total surface area.

To Find :-

Radius and height

Solution :-

It is given that

TSA = 1848

And

CSA = 5/6 of TSA

CSA = 5/6 × 1848

CSA = 5/1 × 308

CSA = 1540

2πrh = 1540 (1)

We know that

TSA = 2πrh + 2πr²

1848 = 1540 + 2πr²

1848 - 1540 = 2 × 22/7 × r²

308 = 44/7 × r²

308 × 7/44 = r²

7 × 7 = r²

49 = r²

√49 = r

7 = r

Hence, Radius is 7 m.

Now, Using 1 will give

2 × 22/7 × 7 × h = 1540

44/7 × h = 1540

h = 1540 × 7/44 × 7

h = 1540/44

h = 35 m

Hence, height is 35 m
